This is a basic 20 second voice recorder that I purchased from radio shack. The difference is that I wired a phono jack to the mic/speaker, so I could record sound right out of my soundcard. Therefore removing the challenge of getting a clear playback. The first thing you need to do is drill 4 holes in the project box. 1 on top, 1 one each end and 1 somewhere else(your choice) Now fasten the mic (phono jack) to one end and the switch through the hole on the top. Now de-solder the mic/speaker and re-solder the wires to your mic jack. Now remove the playback button, by bending the tabs on the back of the chip. Now take your wire and cut a piece to the distance you require. Run the wire through one of the holes in the project box and tie a knot on the inside, so it can't be pulled out from the outside.Strip the ends of the wire and solder one end to each of the contacts. Make sure nothing touches, or your playback will be constant. With the other end of the wire, solder on your second switch(playback). Now de-solder the record button and re-solder it to your button that is sticking out the top of your project box(this will now be your record button). Now run your power wire into the project box and tie a knot in the line, so if it gets pulled accidentally nothing inside will be harmed. Now de-solder the power wires and re-solder the powerwires onto the board. Make sure you have the positive going to the positive, or you will short out the board. Your recorder is now complete.

Now take the 2 phono plugs and build a long male to male cable. One end will plug into your voice recorder, while the other will plug into your soundcard(speaker out) Now when you play your effect, hold down the record button to record the sound. When your done recording (20 sec) take the end of your cable that was plugged into your soundcard, and run it into the input of your amplified speakers. If all went as planned, when you hit the switch on the extended cable, your sound should be played through the amplified speakers. Now go stick this whole mechanism in the base of your stumpjumper and share the living daylights out of your next victim.
